Black musk, the successor to Tahara musk
Tahara musk takes its name from the Arabic word «tahara», meaning ritual purification. This association between musk and purification dates back to an authentic hadith reported by Aisha in al-Bukhari’s Sahih (chapter on menstruation): in which the Prophet ﷺ advises a woman to use a piece of cotton scented with musk after the ritual bath marking the end of her period.
It was from this prophetic tradition that, in the Maghreb and the Middle East, a whole range of musk-scented hygiene products emerged: creams, musk stones, oils and soaps. Black musk is the darker variant: it belongs to the same olfactory family as classic tahara musk, but has a distinctive dark colour and a more pronounced scent trail. How to use black musk soap
Work the soap into a lather on damp skin, using a washcloth or your hands.
Clean the body, focusing on the external areas and avoiding contact with the eyes.
Rinse thoroughly, then store the bread in a dry place on a perforated soap dish.
If you have sensitive skin, test the soap on a small area of your arm first. If kept dry between uses, the bar will last considerably longer than if left at the bottom of a damp shower.
